Britain prods America to let Ukraine use long-range missiles to attack deep inside Russian territory. Putin claims this would constitute an act of war against Russia by NATO, but British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer rebuffs his threat as another bluff. After all, NATO missiles and ammo have been unleashed by Ukraine for two years against Russia’s Black Sea fleet and Crimea without retaliatory Kremlin consequences. But on September 4, a significant escalation in the war took place when hundreds of powerful Iranian missiles were delivered to Russia. “It’s a dangerous escalation,” said Starmer, “that changes the debate” and justifies allowing Ukraine to use long-distance missiles anywhere in Russia. He and his foreign minister undertook a diplomatic blitz to enlist support for Ukraine as well as to dismiss and downplay Putin’s “war talk.” In response, Putin expelled six British diplomats. Then his Armageddon mouthpiece, Dmitry Medvedev, who is deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, noted that Kyiv may become a “giant melted spot” as a result of Ukraine’s Kursk invasion. He added that Moscow has been patient, but “the pompous Anglo-Saxon imbeciles do not want to admit one thing: any patience comes to an end."
