Thank you for sharing this interview Diane. I share your sadness and heartbreak for the Ukrainian people. May they be successful in reclaiming their country from the terror of Putin and may we in the West never take our democracy for granted. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
Diane, great interview with Kate of Times Radio, she's excellent. It's unbelievable that Putin treats his own civilians living in Kursk so callously. I read he's planning to carpet bomb all those settlements, forest areas, etc. -destroy every living thing he can, just in case some Ukrainians might be there also. This is a particularly serious moment for Ukraine and I am hoping with all my heart that President Zelenskyy gets through to Pres. Biden about lifting restrictions on long range strikes. There must be peace that happens only with strength, Kyiv and its allies, working to expel this enemy Russia from its lands. Professor Tim Snyder had an excellent commentary about the West not fully understanding Russia the Empire, and how the West has allowed and normalized Putin's absurd rules of war, rules that never before now existed in history. Such as the invaders can bomb Ukraine's territory as they please, but Ukraine cannot strike back into Russian territory. This was from a clip of Prof. Snyder testifying in a congressional hearing.
More disturbing, I've hear from several sources today that:
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Kremlin is preparing strikes on Ukrainian nuclear power facilities on the eve of winter. In particular, on open switchgear of nuclear power plants and transmission substations, which are critical for the safe operation of nuclear power.
The destruction of these facilities creates a high risk of a nuclear incident that will have global consequences. The Ukrainian special services have already passed on the relevant information to their partners. The IAEA has also been informed. -Statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
