Many people worry about civil war if Donald Trump again loses the November 5 Presidential election. This is because, in 2020, Donald Trump tried to overthrow Joe Biden’s victory with a flood of litigation and a vicious “Stop the Steal” campaign. On January 6, 2021, he gave a speech that sparked a mob riot at the Capitol Building, then refused for three hours to bring in the National Guard to stop the murder and mayhem. He still believes that he did not lose in 2020 and has preemptively declared that if he loses this year, it will be because the vote was rigged. He’s also amassed an army of operatives to suppress votes and is a ruthless man with millions of followers in a country where there are more guns than people. Thus, the other side prepares for trouble if he loses again. “He’s not making the kinds of overtures to his constituencies that suggest he’s going to go gently into that good night,” commented Colorado Senator and Democrat John Hickenlooper.
