Which brings me to my pet peeve. Why do we continue to allow Russian hockey players to play in the NHL, live comfortably in North American and take millions and millions of dollars back to Russia. Every time I watch an NHL game I feel guilty thinking about what is going in the Ukraine while seeing these guys perform. Like the IOC the NHL has turned a blind eye. Disgraceful
I still am stunned at this attitude of the Olympic committee. Boycotting by protesting nations must happen & those companies who chose to sponsor the Olympics should also be boycotted. Those on Facebook & other social media could voice their protests there - all around the world the 'shout' of NO to Russian participants no matter what ridiculous flag they chose MUST prevail. The Olympic Committee must be purged as well.
The entire Olympic thing is corrupted...Athletes are pawns to big money...I come from high performance sport background and cannot abide the present Olympic movement...absolutely Russia shouldn’t attend..but the whole thing is past it’s best before date and needs tossing..along with the oligarchs running them
The International Ice Hockey Federation pulled its 2022-23 World Junior Championship from being hosted by Russia and banned the Russians from participating. Good for them!
Unfortunately, they seem to be in the minority among sports federations and especially the professional sports world.
All individuals holding Russian passports who have not - after almost a year of this war and Putin's atrocities - denounced their citizenship by now should be deported, especially those in positions of great wealth and fame, such as athletes, entertainers and the like.
The IOC and Olympics have been a joke as long as I can remember, going back to the boondoggle that was the corrupt 1976 Montreal games.
But it should come as no surprise that this is happening.
Boycotts are the answer until enough nations heed the call to make the Paris games irrelevant. Perhaps the innocent athletes who would be impacted by a boycott could support it as well, considering the sacrifices being made daily by the people of Ukraine.

The IOC does not seem to know the term "International Pariah". Boycott the Olympics. Do not watch, do not go, do not support.

The IOC is not a World Court. The awarding of "fake passes" is presumptuous to say the least.
May the rest of the World find another way and venue for its athletic showcase, and leave the fakers on the sidelines.
