I’m trying to understand why Germany is so hell-bent on the completion of NordStream 2.
They are currently receiving Russian oil and gas via Ukraine. Is it strictly the fees they have to pay Ukraine that’s driving them to receive the same Russian oil and gas via the Baltic Sea? If that’s the case cannot Ukraine simply lower their fees?
You are so right when you say that the NordStream 2 pipeline is ‘creepily reminiscent of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in 1939’. Does Biden want to be another Neville Chamberlain and the US behave like feckless Great Britain and France after 1933? Honest to god it baffles me why no one will stand up to the bully Putin. Where are the next Regan and Thatcher figures?
I feel like you are teaching us about a game that has no written, agreed upon rules and that is unlike any game with which I am familiar. By doing so you give us the opportunity to learn about the use of raw power. It's not comfortable, but I appreciate the opportunity.

Sorry. It should be Reagan, not Regan
