I hope you're right - it's logical & makes sense - so why am I still so anxious that RU will get support from China. I hope the American countries who moved their head offices to China wake up & get out of there.

Thank you, Diane. I get the feeling that Chian doesn't know what to do, or hasn't figured out yet what would bre wise for them to do. So, this is probably a good time to open up something positive from us regarding trade, so that China can focus on their own economy (their major concern), and weaken their ties with Russia. Biden's response about not wanting a cold war with China but an economic competition was intuitively brilliant.

Spot on: I’ve heard comments to the effect that China will enter the war..and while at the surface this plays in Moscow, China has other aspirations- economic and is focussed on Asia pacific..plus is not with]trout its own internal issues. as you suggest, China stand to gain from Russian weakness..will there be a global condemnation of Putin- no..but that’s not the topic here..

Thank you so much, a great summary of the superpowers at play.,So much at risk and I hope China stays out of Putin's nasty and egoistic war. Why do so few cause so many problems and evils in this world?

Very good analysis. I have read that the west did not react when Putin invaded Crimea in 2014 which gave Putin encouragement to invade Ukraine so perhaps the west's feebleness was partly to blame for the vile invasion, especially Germany which stopped nuclear energy production of electricity and relied on Russsian gas and oil. Merkel was far too close to Moscow.

'Xi recently made a state visit to Saudi Arabia to secure supplies should Russia fall apart.' So no oil from Saudi and is that because it is expensive compared to Russian oil? Or what?
