Putin's apparent belief that hitting a shopping center and residential buildings with missles would be an effective way to get NATO countires to back off shows a profound lack of understanding of the spirit that underlies free people.
I have to think that at some point, the Russian/Chinese alliance will fall apart, right? I know that birds of a feather/dictators flock together, like Putin and Jinping, but these two countries have never gotten along and almost went to war in the 1960s, if memory serves correctly. China has long had its eyes on the vast natural resources in Siberia, and it is still a festering wound in Beijing that back in the 19th Century, it was forced to cede the Amur Basin and Vladivostok to Russia.
Amen Diane. Great newsletter. I’m starting to worry about Ukraine’s resolve to keeping going much longer. You can only suffer vicious, crippling blows for so long.
Excellent update and summary of the current environment. Let's hope the Ukraine will continue to fight for their freedom and security for NATO countries. The physical destruction (plus millions of refugees and related mental stress) caused by Putin / Russia is appalling while they are not allowed to hit Russian assets in their homeland. Let's face it, this is World War III being fought in one country at the expense of so many lives and their homeland. How many years will it take to rebuild the Ukraine and let Ukrainians enjoy their freedom?
I read where one of the challenges the Ukraine military have with some weapons being sent from NATO members, is getting adequate training quickly enough. Given some of the territory the Ukranians are defending are very close to Belarus and parts of Russia, everyday Russian citizens best hope they are well trained on setting accurate directions for guidance systems.

My understanding is delays in delivery have due to need to do necessary training in Germany and Poland
