I agree. I wrote a newsletter just after the invasion calling it "Europe's Kristallnacht" https://dianefrancis.substack.com/p/europes-kristallnacht

Clearly - the free world is taking the easy way out of this conflict by allowing Putin to do as he wishes to destroy UKR WHILE - the country of Ukr is the target BUT cannot retaliate by hitting within Russia. This is INSANE! My anger at NATO watching this horrific attack on a free country is unbelievable. PUTIN is winning - in all manners of the war - he is going to take UKR - by bits and pieces. He cares NOT who dies!

He's not wrong, but here's my question: Would China ever allow Russia to be kicked off the UNSC? I have to think that the answer is an unequivocal "NO".

China has lost a ton of "soft power" because of its "no limits" partnership with Putin -- a pledge it agreed to before knowing how crazy Putin would be. China distances itself and will do so more out of fear of the country as well as because Xi is now wholly in charge and can change direction at will as it worsens. China must do something to stop Russia or impair it or else lose its customers, America and Europe.

Was it the US Secretary of Defense who indicated in the early part of Putin’s invasion that one of the US goals was for Russia to drain off its military power by waging this war, a long war? I am guessing that China might have the same reason for the US to continue to pay a fortune to support Ukraine. For China the US is enemy #1 as its main superpower contender and rival for control of the world, if I may be so bold to say so.

Arms for Ukraine is one thing but also consider the importance on energy. Trumps efforts with Ukraine were not limited to sending them our best missiles and bombers. Trump also sent envoys to Ukraine and all of Europe to get them geared up to receive shiploads of American gas, but for some reason the Dems, the Left, the media, and certainly the Russians took umbrage with that. They preferred the Burisma/Biden arrangement which sold gas from the Putin Pipeline running through Ukraine. Alas, Biden on his first day put the kabosh the pipeline and lucrative leases, pleasing Putin very much indeed. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-poland-usa-energy-idUSKCN1VL0HH

“He thought the war would end in three days because he bribed people in Ukraine, thinking they would look the other way, but they took his money and double-crossed him and fought off the invasion.” Is this true? And are the double crossers still of influence?
