The sad thing is, I think that even if Trump does get convicted of something (anything!!) in the lead up too the election, many people will STILL vote for him because they are devoid of critical thinking and have bought into the circus.

Good coverage and woe is us. Asked if America is tipping over Jim Grant answered with a quote from Adam Smith, "There is a lot of ruin in a country." Followed with, "The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire is a very large book".

The shortcomings of the probable candidates very unfortunately follows a series of poor, spend thrift administrations and a probable world-wide historical financial storm. (Trillions in zero interest rate debt will need to be reset at more realistic interest rates over the next several years. time is over.)

Calvin Coolidge where are you when we need you?

Biden running for a second term is the height of selfishness? You gotta be kidding me!!!! tRump is running for president in hopes of keeping his sorry ass out of prison. tRump is running for himself and NO ONE ELSE, but Joe Biden is selfish. How utterly stupid!

Your article feels like 'pouring alcohol on an open wound' - all that you report is not only true but scary. Just hope American's wake up from their 'asleep' at the wheel attitude - not concerned about their future 'security' which will be the first real result of 'you-know-who' in control.

First, you are too kind to refer to 45 as simply “unwell.” He is a sociopath. Second, there is a greater threat that no one is discussing: You imply that Kamala Harris might be unsuitable to step in. Have you considered the horror of a carefully managed succession plan by the far right? There are many who are as bad or worse than 45 but they are smarter and more skilled at their destructive craft. Remember the bumbling Dubyah whose actions were managed by those around him? The thought of this scenario repeated -only orders of magnitude worse- takes one’s breath away.

Yesa reset is needed. Thefzeezing of the legislation on Ukraine aid and the border is inexcusable. This is a flaw in the constitution and in most democratic countries does not happen. The elected government passes legislation, full stop. The GOP under a non elected man holds up vital legislation and America seems spellbound by this GOP appalling behaviour. It is now a sad country and needs many changes.

Age is the least of their problems. The fact that neither party allowed a real open nomination contest, is the best argument for a reset in the American system. As long as too many people benefit from the manufactured bi-polarization, the third party candidates will have trouble raising the necessary funds.

Nice article. It goes to the mentally unwell and we know who gets that prize the one who says he always wins. President Trump. It is the chaos that will come that will push the markets down but the blame from Trump is the Democrat's. Always blame them for everything that goes wrong is Trumps way never take the blame. It is not about America when Trump gets in its all about Him and his family running the US as a dictator that is loves being. And if he looses as he said a bloodbath. That is the other problem if Biden wins Trump will call again for a revolution. and a war maybe coming. So he has to win or bloodbath. The Old days of President Reaganism is gone. Sad day for the Old day Republicans.

Wonderful reporting as usual. The problem with politics today is that the game has become so divisive and the constituents are angrier and threatened with verbal abuse in so many ways (i.e. social media) including firearms. Their "real" salary is not high enough to maintain a good standard of living, so they need the financial support of their supporters (the underground economy). For example, look at Clarence Thomas. Their supporters expect payback/favours once in power. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Hang on to your seats if Trump ever gets in. If he loses again, hang on to your seats he will continue his quest for retribution.

Here is an update on Trump he now says Bloodbath was fake news. Even if he said it he will make real news fake so anything he says that is not good he will say fake news even if real. So reality becomes fake. Mental heath should be a huge issue in the election.
