CORRECTION. Vladlen Tatarsky was assassinated on April 2, not Strelkov. Archival version has been corrected.

Please correct the version sent out. It's a really big mistake and much of the story focuses on Strelkov. Tatarsky's real name is Max Fomin and he was originally fron the Donbas. The irony is that, beyond his heinous role in starting the war in the Donbas with a fake separatist movement, Strelkov has pretty reliably been telling the facts about the situation between Muscovy and Ukraine in recent years. As a GRU operative, he was actively involved in the Balkan wars.

Replacing Putin with like-minded dictators is not a win for the West - thanks for the update on what is happening 'internally' in Russia. I can't help but wonder if there will be an attempt to break out Navalny - now THAT would be a great achievement!

Never going to happen I'm afraid regarding Navalny

I, as well, when I heard he did NOT criticize PUTIN on Crimea - however, YOUR concern would be worth an article on him OR is that premature or counter productive?

Once begun, nothing short of immediate total success on battlefield will keep Putin in power..I have to think this will be reflected in promulgation of the invasion over coming weeks

Diane, not sure how to contact you personally BUT your article in the Edmonton Journal was the most depressing piece ever - I read it & felt like a hostage to JT and Singh - with policies that are destroying our economy & taxing us to the nines. HOW does one start a petition to demand a referendum on 'two-term' only for PM's of Canada - if this was in place, JT would be gone and the people of Canada would have MORE power. Premier Higgins was a gigantic supporter of the pipeline Energy East AND it took only ONE prov to destroy that initiative - our friends in Quebec. I am just a low-person on the totem pole of influence BUT YOU are someone who can be a catalyst - a strong voice - to suggest to Canadians that THIS policy would protect Canada from Pr Ministers with agendas that are NOT supported by the population. Alberta has a strong desire to separate and this would break my heart BUT it's become our only choice to rid of such poor governing. Your view on this would be appreciated. I will be sending this proposal to my MP Dane Lloyd - and other like minded MP's. What do you think could be done to get such a referendum in place for the next election.

Hideous leadership in Canada -- we're in the G7 but have dropped to 10th and falling. I will keep writing in Canada and possibly this newsletter too.

it is possible they will be worse thugs but that too will be bad for Russia. The Nato group may have to remove the nukes again.

I agree it seems impossible that Navalny be broken out of jail, and I suspect would not help his political cause as he would then have to be broken out of Russia as well, but if will be achievement enough for now if he can just stay alive.
