And sadly no mention of Canada - currently the world's 6th largest producer of natural gas - because Justin Trudeau's government continues to attack the industry in the name of climate change. They are truly a House of Fools as the world is leaving Canada behind.

Yes and the Canadian media is not attacking the Trudeau government for not producing more natural gas as it seems to be in the arms of climate change lobbies. Canada is negligent and ignorant.

Brilliant analysis, as usual. Many thanks.

Mr. Trudeau and special interest & Indigenous groups stalled any progress on pipelines to bring natural gas to the West coast for refining and shipment of LNG. Again, Canadians take a back seat to a more robust and prosperous economy. Canada should be shipping LNG from the Pacific and Atlantic coasts.

Putin seems to have underestimated so many countries that he felt would support his actions. Kazakhstan being one. It appears that he has never accepted the fact that the Soviet Union exists no more. Energy required for manufacturing, transportation and heat, along with food for hungry citizens is more important than his desire to show Russian dominance.

I was surprised by your hypothesis that substantial pipeline gas delivery will be a thing of the past, because I believe you are right.

LNG shipment is a proven technology and is making deliveries easier from foreign sources, but it will need to be greatly expanded and that will take a few years to outperform existing pipelines, hence reactivating current nuclear and coal fired plants until this can be accomplished.

One technology on the horizon is linear battery storage – the storage of electrons in a “bus like” fashion within a battery instead of the Rambo style of everything all over colliding with one another and wasting huge amounts of energy while in storage.

Someday we will see Canada’s small run of river hydro projects switch from almost giving their power to regulated providers to producing these batteries which could easily be distributed.

I guess my point is anything can happen and probably for the best.

As always, your research behind these articles is impressive.

Diane, no mention of Canada, with huge reserves of Nat Gas and a huge reserve of liberal ideologues in Ottawa. One of these reserves has value for the world and Canada.

Sadly, Canada is irrelevant because we have no foreign policy and no leadership

How well expressed Diane but nevertheless the media here might be far more critical of Trudeau and NDP on this.

"Even if he gets his quarry, Ukraine, it will be decimated and ungovernable." The callous indifference of this sentence chills me to the bone. The atrocities, barbarism and suffering of this "decimation" are incomprehensible to me.
