excellent and crystallizing article. The big picture has not been addressed clearly by the media.

The Jeddah Conference also offered another very important breakthrough - (if the Trumpies don't blow it). It allowed such major world players as China, India, and Saudi Arabia as well as a host of smaller (3rd world and post-colonial) countries to take the lead in resolving a global issue. It is no longer the U.S. that is expected to take the lead and incur its hostility or the passive resistance of the "southern hemisphere" to "Yankee imperialism". It also demonstrates the need for a U.N. alternative or replacement.

Zelensky has taken a global problem to areas of the world that were not prepared to march lockstep with the U.S., invited the U.S. to sit in as a participant, and challenged all the countries that could have been complaining about American's domination of the world's agenda and looking out for its own interests, to tackle a problem that the U.S. alone is unable to solve. Now they all have some "skin in the game" and understand the responsibility and complexity that the U.S. has had to face alone. They now have been assigned their "homework" in the setting up of "work groups" responsible for different aspects of Zelensky's peace plan, and expected to reconvene for the next - even larger - conference.
