It allowed such major world players as China, India, and Saudi Arabia as well as a host of smaller (3rd world and post-colonial) countries to take the lead in resolving a global issue. It is no longer the U.S. that is expected to take the lead and incur its hostility or the passive resistance of the "southern hemisphere" to "Yankee imperialism". It also demonstrates the need for a U.N. alternative or replacement.
Zelensky has taken a global problem to areas of the world that were not prepared to march lockstep with the U.S., invited the U.S. to sit in as a participant, and challenged all the countries that could have been complaining about American's domination of the world's agenda and looking out for its own interests, to tackle a problem that the U.S. alone is unable to solve. Now they all have some "skin in the game" and understand the responsibility and complexity that the U.S. has had to face alone. They now have been assigned their "homework" in the setting up of "work groups" responsible for different aspects of Zelensky's peace plan, and expected to reconvene for the next - even larger - conference.
Putin plus the extremist who have evolved over generations of plunder and kill , and blessed by the grand pooba of the Greek Orthodox needs to be eliminated. My ancestors emigrated to canada during the pogroms leaving beautiful Odessa . Root cause of an evil cultural of ultranationalists needs to be exterminated

It is infuriating to know that the Ukrainian forces could easily succeed if they had the appropriate equipment eg Sead, heavy bombers. Eliminate the radars and bomb the mine fields.

Diane while it’s hard not to disagree with all you have written, you are hiding behind a belief that “ half wars” can be waged.
WAR means just that. Total annihilation of the opposition or the enemy expulsion from the war zone.
Nothing less is possible or acceptable. Or ... you lose!
The Ukrainian’s can only drive the Russians from the Ukrainian. They cannot annihilate Russia.
So WAR has to be vicious and uncompromising. 🫤
