Really good stuff...the western press made nothing of the visit or associated strategy ..Zelensky has a leadership style worthy of association with classic leaders from history- Churchill comes to mind..but perhaps moreso than Churchill as his ego seems far more controlled and so far he listens and avoids dangerous adventures
Despite Pres Z's logical presentation - it's like the world has gone from the frying pan into the fire. Saudi IS the cat watching the mouse - a very scary scenario. Any hope for a solution to this is . . . for me, none. (sorry I'm so pessimistic)
A tap of 220 years is a great deal of oil, but the real question is whether the world will need all that oil. New technological development of "alternatives" are popping up almost monthly, and energy saving inventions hold promise of greatly reduced consumption. Furthermore, there is still plenty of oil available in other countries - Venezuela is an obvious example - and even current major fossil fuel companies are rushing to diversify.
Neom may be truly an extraordinary mega-project. But what happens when oil revenues decline.....will the comforts it now includes be affordable in the future, and will employment for its residents be available? How will the Kingdom continue supporting both its 7,000 princes and its citizens in the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed?
Perhaps the Saudis should invest in sand mining and distribution .....it is my understanding that sand has doubled and tripled in value in these last 2-3 years and the Saudis - more than anybody - seem to have a plentiful supply as well.
Yea but with money like that, (like Norway), they will end up owning all the alternative energy sources and corporations. But the IEA predicts the Age of Oil will continue (because the world cannot wean itself, notably the poorest) for virtually the entire century up to 2100
Excellent. Like the old saying, with MBS comes power and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Yes, everyone should be looking over their shoulders, who can you really trust?

Saudi will stick a knife in your back as soon as does not need you. These are all oil relationships, need not trust
