Diane.....you forgot to mention one of Ukraine's most significant assets.......and that is you.
Thank you for the speech. If and when Ukraine can build a memorial to those who nurtured Ukraine during its first 30 years of independence, you should undoubtedly be in the top ranking.
Diane - wow - can't even say in the. words needed to thank you for continuing to support AND report on Ukraine. The people of UKR deserve peace - they've lost so many and so much. Yet - they appreciate the support the free world has given them. I got pretty shook toward the end when you reported on how brave and SMART & Educated Ukraine's people are. Yes - they are 100%. Your continued support for them is beyond all else. From my CDN Ukr heart - I have tears of thanks. You are very special.
Well done indeed - Ukraine has actually won- Germany finally understands …. and the minerals deal is teed up to resolve the big post war hurdle- the oligarchs. We just have to keep Putin’s finger off the red button and cook the frog.
If Ukraine had been a member of NATO, the organization would have been obligated to defend it from Russian aggression.
The injection of NATO forces in the conflict to defend Ukraine could well have led to an escalation that could well have resulted in the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
As it turns out, both Ukraine and Russia have fought the war to a stalemate - sending resources to Ukraine will enable that country to maintain the draw until a negotiated settlement can be reached.
A NATO deployment would upset this situation dangerously for all involved.
Granting Ukraine membership in NATO will not be feasible until such time as Russia can be admitted.
Vintage Diane in the flesh! When communism collapsed in Europe, the cancer ran deep in the bureaucracy and it was easy pickings for the oligarchs to grab the assets. Your optimism shines as there have countries that have transformed, to name two, Poland and Czechnia. Thank you for your support of Ukraine.
