Why can’t individual NATO countries deliver more long range air defence missiles into Ukraine? Now I read that Canada refuses to deliver 24, of the 200 that we have in storage, Harpoon missiles to Ukraine. These missiles could eliminate some Russian ships in the Black Sea that have been launching cruise missiles into Ukraine. It’s like Canada thinks that sending the missiles would be too “harsh”. I’m embarrassed that Ukraine has to put up with this craven incompetence.

That, I assume, would trigger a nuclear response. Pour European and American troops and weapons in to Ukraine to give it much needed support? We have already had threats from Putin in anticipation of that scenario. The risk, again, is nuclear warfare. It seems that we are in no better a position to stop a mad aggressor in his tracks now than when Hitler waged war and my father did his little bit to fight him off. The only practical solution seems to be a nice cup of tea for Putin liberally laced with Novichok but, as the old saying goes, "you can take a Putin to Novichok, but you can't make him drink"!
