An excellent pocket history, Diane. Thank you. I’ve shared.

This is really scary, made all the more scary when looked at it from the context of T****’s bowing to him.

Great article. I'm sharing it. Just one thing. I wouldn't call him "deeply religious" in the sincere sense of the term. In fact his bio reads more like the Antichrist, so yes probably a "true believer" in God, but as Gods opposite. After all, he is the single richest man on this Earth and his main weapon is cunning. Cast your mind back to the Devil tempting Jesus in the desert with offering him all EARTHLY things set out before him, exactly as Putin does to his "disciples". Chilling.

As a Canadian living in Ukraine, I agree with your post 100%. I have in-laws living in Russia that I have not seen in several years and am afraid to even try to visit them. My wife can go but even if I got a visa, I could be arrested at any time for any reason.

Keep telling the world.

Fascinating. Was Trump positioning himself as an opponent to Putin, a partner, or an underling? Or was (is) he already subservient?

This was very thorough and therefore a very scary read. Putin is a thug and trump was taking lessons from the master. Has been for a while as his shtick is emulating strongmen. If anyone follows David Cay Johnston you might be interested in reading Putin’s complete involvement in the 2016 election with Trump’s full knowledge and consent. The kicker for me as far as trump was concerned was when he hired Flynn and then his invite into the Oval of those two Russian top dogs Lavrov and Kislyak. If I had entertained any ideas to the contrary, these events left no doubt at all in my mind.

Diane, could you write about: idiots referring to a "trial" for the 2 Michaels. We have trials, it's a lynching in most other communist and dictatorial countries. STOP mentioning the name of murders, rapists, etc when writing, publishing news, etc. Oh, and that perhaps, those who review the work of journalists, writers, learn, that WORDS MATTER !!!!!! Just saying. Keep up the great work, and thank you !!!

This is clearly an area where we differ. I view religion as being a big source of the world's problems. Further, even with all of the problems south and north of the 49th parallel, I'll take our problems over those in a declining Russia any day.
