What a tragedy that the West does not have leaders to stand up to Putin and stop this horrible nightmare. Where are the Roosevelts, Churchills and strong Generals that defeated the Germans. Where are the diplomats that could resolve issues backed up by their unbeatable military might....

Sadly this world is being overtaken by bullies without opposition and we are weak and in decline.

Thanks Diane, for helping to keep this war at the forefront, where it belongs. Nothing else is as important as the need to defeat Putin in 2023 and restore democracy and freedom to Ukraine and the world.

Hard to comment after such a powerful speech from President Zelenskyy. I still feel that NATO and Biden have been allowing UKR to be literally destroyed 'on their watch' because they fear Putin. Putin has known they would NOT attack Russia (nuc's - escalation - words used to hold back Ukr) - & the price paid for that is UKR is getting obliterated. However, Zelenskyy continues to be strong - will win no matter what - as will Ukrainians. Surrender is synonymous to die - That's the Russian way.

Thank you for posting this. I was at my kouma's that evening and we all watched it with tears in our eyes. Even the kids, age 12 and 16, paid attention for almost the entire speech.

I agree that the US track record on foreign military misadventures, based on stupid policies and cultural ignorance, is stunning. But I disagree about Ukraine and Zelensky. Both are clearly victims of an evil regime in Moscow and help is deserved. Thanks for your comments.

So.......your view is that we should just let Ukraine get steamrolled into oblivion?

I’m incredibly thankful that you weren’t in charge in the 1930s and 1940s.

I didn't get that impression from Diane - & if you read previous articles by Diane, you'd know her position. Research before you speak.

Wasn’t responding to Diane, only to the original comment. You don’t know me, don’t make assumptions about what I know and don’t know.
