Thanks for providing an outsider's independent review. I appreciated the analysis, You nailed it with "... the contrast in leadership personalities. Biden is cool, calm, and Congressionally capable compared to Trump who is chaotic, incompetent, and a creator of crises."
It will be fascinating to see whether the Primaries are a true reflection of Americans moving away from populist rhetoric and fact-less leadership surrounded with buffoonery and likely corruption. This is Trump. Biden on the other hand is incompetent and yes perhaps "calm" Diane because he needs his meds to keep him awake. Neither are optimal in any way for this country that leads the free world. One can only hope the apparent direction from the vote with be to see Americans awake from this slumber and see that rules matter and practical, stable and character-based leadership will step forward. Be it DeSantis or Newsome. Bring it on!
For the Republicans to break away from Trump they HAVE to go back to President Reagan's Reaganism which was torn apart by Trump. In other words the Republicans need to get their act together.
While agree with much that you said, you over rate Biden and your hatred of Trump warps your view of his policies. I personally am not a fan of Trump or Biden; but I like the Trump policies way better than the Biden policies especially on the border and fossil fuels. Time realize that fossil fuels should be phased out, not chopped completely. Living in California, I can tell you Newson is not the answer. Look at how California is the highest taxed state in the Union and they are still asking for more and people cannot wait to move out if they have the ability.
"Biden is cool, calm, and Congressionally capable compared to Trump who is chaotic, incompetent, and a creator of crises." Did you transpose the two names? Trump brought Israel and the Arabs together, working to stop middle east terrorism. Trump reined in North Korea and brought relative peace to Ukraine by being the first president to bomb the Russians and send out best missiles, bombers, and ships to Ukraine. Trump opened up commerce by removing the restraints to drilling, farming, forestry, fishing, mining, manufacturing, and fuel distribution. Minority unemployment plumbed new lows and the stock market new highs.
Biden has been a disaster in each of these respects, nearly as bad as Newsom who blamed Trump for the record number of people fleeing his state. He makes no mention of his states record high unemployment, homeless, drug addicts, taxes, and prison release programs.
If Trump and DeSantis go head to head for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2024, I am here for it ("pass the popcorn").
Loved the closing words from you and Jon Meacham--a humorous, wise and light touch!

Trump played it straight from the Reagan book....keep your friends close and your enemies closer, crush the Kremlin with low gas prices and B-52s in their face. https://taskandpurpose.com/news/air-force-b-52-bomber-task-force-ukraine/
governing by intentional crisis and chaos is exhausting for the people and will drive more and more away

No but you are wont to use ad hominems instead of data and logic.
